Goldfish Made the Ground Game Count

Lasso’s Goldfish embraced volatility and got paid in the right places.

Lasso’s Goldfish reached 279 points by Sunday night and forced California Stoners into a Monday chase. That is the good news and the relevant news. The better news is how it happened. Derrick Henry’s 67 did not come alone. Jayden Daniels scored 46, Javonte Williams 38, Chris Olave 36, and the Patriots defense added 24. That is not one lucky spike. That is a lineup that landed hard punches at several different positions.

The sharpest choice was not glamorous. It was trusting Javonte Williams in an RB slot and letting Emeka Egbuka’s lighter 12 live in the flex. Javonte outperformed projection and gave this roster the second running-back eruption that helped offset California’s own running-back eruptions. When a week offers 67 from Henry, the easiest way to waste it is to get cute elsewhere. Lasso’s Goldfish mostly resisted that impulse.

There is still one fair internal comparison. Bhayshul Tuten’s 17 on the bench was better than Egbuka’s 12 and could have padded the margin further through the flex. But that is mild criticism, not an indictment. The bigger bench names either underperformed or have not played. Travis Kelce and Bo Nix remain idle for Monday, but they are on the bench and do not affect this week’s starting total.

That matters for the outlook. Lasso’s Goldfish has no starters left, so the current 279-261 lead is the full Sunday case. Yahoo’s capture-time projection still had the team ahead 279-276, which means the cushion is thin enough to feel real but solid enough to deserve praise. Next week’s practical step is modest: follow the waiver desk toward Jordan Mason or Tyler Allgeier only if the goal is depth behind the stars. This roster already proved the starting blueprint works.
