Monangai and Vele Surface on Rollmerican’s Wire

A bruising runner, a target magnet and a usable tight end top the available board.

At Yahoo’s 2:55 p.m. PDT available-player capture on September 13, 2026, the most interesting Rollmerican free-agent names for California are not just touchdown scorers. The better clues come from touches, targets and whether a player’s Week 1 usage can matter in this non-PPR, 12-point-touchdown format once future lineups unlock.

Kyle Monangai is the cleanest first look. He is listed as a free agent and posted 36 points on 10 carries for 100 yards and a touchdown, plus two catches for 24 yards. In this scoring system, explosive rushing value matters more than reception volume, and Monangai supplied both efficiency and a scoring punch on a limited 10-carry sample. That efficiency is encouraging, but it does not establish a larger future role.

Devaughn Vele deserves equal attention because nine targets are hard to ignore anywhere. He turned that opportunity into seven catches, 69 yards and a touchdown for 25 points. Even in a format that does not reward catches by themselves, that kind of involvement suggests a player who can stay fantasy-relevant if the opportunities continue.

Mike Gesicki is a more situational fit, but seven targets, five catches, 78 yards and a touchdown for 27 points make him a legitimate streaming consideration, especially for any team looking for a second tight-end plan. The target count is the key evidence, not just the score.

Bryce Young and Tyler Shough are available quarterback alternatives as well, although a single high-scoring opener does not establish a weekly baseline. Monangai’s 10 carries and Vele’s nine targets are worth following into the next game. All three featured players were listed as free agents in this league at the check; verify availability again before a move. An addition cannot backfill points already played in Week 1.
