THE FRANCHISE STORY

The Smokehouse. Their house.

Tough Enough to Chew

Jerky Jones began behind a roadside smokehouse outside Fort Worth, where local rancher Jeremiah Jones hosted fiercely competitive fantasy drafts beside his family’s ageing cattle barn. When Jones finally purchased a franchise, he rejected polished corporate branding and built a team around toughness, patience, and unapologetic Texas flavour. The Smokehouse rises from open ranchland with iron beams, weathered timber, and enormous smoke stacks that release crimson clouds after every touchdown.

The team earned its reputation by surviving long games, harsh weather, and opponents who expected them to dry out late. Instead, Jerky Jones became stronger as contests dragged on. Their mascot, Chew, is an original longhorn outlaw carrying a football satchel and wearing a smoke coloured bandana.

Supporters ring iron dinner bells before kickoff, creating a metallic roar across the stadium. Critics call the franchise salty, stubborn, and difficult to stomach. Jones considers all three descriptions compliments, particularly when his team is still standing after everyone else has been consumed.
