He plays Cleveland Sunday at 10 a.m. PT and remains an available pregame lineup option until his kickoff.
The important point is not to inflate him into an instant starter. California already has Justin Jefferson, Jaylen Waddle and Trey McBride providing strong reception pathways, plus Michael Pittman Jr. and Jayden Reed on the bench. Washington is more interesting as a depth investment than as an immediate demand for lineup promotion.
What makes the stash defensible is format fit. In standard scoring, a crowded target battle can make a receiver feel disposable unless the touchdown outlook is obvious. In full PPR, however, a player does not need to own the entire room to matter. If he can carve out steady catches, he becomes usable faster than people think, especially during bye weeks or injury squeezes.
Washington’s useful test is whether Jacksonville gives him a repeatable role. California can watch his routes and targets without needing to promote him automatically. If the usage supports steady catches, he becomes more interesting for future flex decisions and bye-week coverage. One projected number does not settle the competition; Sunday provides the next evidence.
